Overview
To download account information into Quicken, you are going to create a file using "Download History for Quicken" in Online Services, save the file onto your Computer Desktop and then import the file into Quicken.
Creating and Saving a File from Online Services
- Select "History", then "Download History for Quicken".
- Select the ID Description (example: 80 CHECKING)
- Enter a transaction begin date and a transaction end date. (Note: To avoid duplicating transactions in Quicken, do not duplicate transaction dates. If you do duplicate dates, delete the duplicated transactions in Quicken.)
- Select desired file format: QIF for Quicken
- From the Download Dialog Box, select "Save this file to disk".
- From the Save As Dialog Box, save the file to your Desktop. It's OK to rename the file as long as the extension and document type remain QIF.
- Save the file onto your Desktop. (Note: To avoid duplicating transactions in Quicken, do not duplicate transaction dates. If this happens, delete the duplicated transactions in Quicken.)
- End your Online Services Session.
Importing the File Into Quicken
- Do a full back up in Quicken.
- From Quicken, select File>Import>QIF data and, using the browse button, choose the file you just saved onto your desktop. (Note: Sometimes Quicken will add an additional .txt extension. If this happens, rename the file by left clicking on the file name and deleting the .txt.)
- Make sure you are importing into the correct Quicken Account.
- Click OK and you will receive a message that files were successfully imported.
- From here on, refer to Quicken Instructions.
