Quicken Download Instructions

Overview
To download account information into Quicken, you are going to create a file using "Download History for Quicken" in Online Services, save the file onto your Computer Desktop and then import the file into Quicken.

Creating and Saving a File from Online Services

  1. Select "History", then "Download History for Quicken".
  2. Select the ID Description (example: 80 CHECKING)
  3. Enter a transaction begin date and a transaction end date. (Note: To avoid duplicating transactions in Quicken, do not duplicate transaction dates. If you do duplicate dates, delete the duplicated transactions in Quicken.)
  4. Select desired file format: QIF for Quicken
  5. From the Download Dialog Box, select "Save this file to disk".
  6. From the Save As Dialog Box, save the file to your Desktop. It's OK to rename the file as long as the extension and document type remain QIF.
  7. Save the file onto your Desktop. (Note: To avoid duplicating transactions in Quicken, do not duplicate transaction dates. If this happens, delete the duplicated transactions in Quicken.)
  8. End your Online Services Session.

Importing the File Into Quicken

  1. Do a full back up in Quicken.
  2. From Quicken, select File>Import>QIF data and, using the browse button, choose the file you just saved onto your desktop. (Note: Sometimes Quicken will add an additional .txt extension. If this happens, rename the file by left clicking on the file name and deleting the .txt.)
  3. Make sure you are importing into the correct Quicken Account.
  4. Click OK and you will receive a message that files were successfully imported.
  5. From here on, refer to Quicken Instructions.
