2019 CANDIDATE STATEMENTS
Board of Directors
As a member of the credit union for the past 14 years, I have come to know how far superior the services and benefits are with Valley First Credit Union as contrasted against the competitive experience. I have been a volunteer on the Supervisory Committee for 10 years. This experience has been a very rewarding one. In April 2016, I was nominated and voted in to serve on the Board of Directors and currently serve as the Vice Chair. Being a part of Valley First Credit Union’s consistent quest for doing the right thing for its members and employees is truly a breath of fresh air. I consider it a privilege to have been able to serve our credit union and hope to continue my volunteer service and increase my involvement by accepting a nomination to fill an open seat on the Board of Directors.
I have an extensive local business background and have experience working with large organizational boards. I am a partner with AVAILABILITY Professional Staffing, a 50-year-old local top talent recruiting and staffing agency. My current position is business development/owner.
Dr. Gary Hall
Board of Directors
I appreciate the opportunity to serve as a director for Valley First Credit Union for another three-year term. I currently chair the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) and Treasurer of the Board of Directors. I have enjoyed my term working harmoniously with the other directors and staff to serve our credit union. By working together, we can keep Valley First Credit Union the number one service oriented financial institution in the valley.
I have been a member of the credit union for over 60 years. I served 11 years on the Supervisory Committee and have served 13 years as a volunteer on the Board of Directors. I am a Doctor of Chiropractic and have maintained a private practice since 1976. I am an active member of many professional associations, holding positions of leadership in many of them.
I was appointed by the Board of Supervisors as the County’s Chief Executive Officer in the summer of 2017. My professional experience ranges from the private to public-sector employment. I am proud to share my local roots and deep commitment to the residents of this county.
As a public servant in Stanislaus County for 20 years, I believe in the power of hard work and giving back. I hold a passion for our future generations and recognize the influence each of us holds to make a real difference in the future. A common thread in successful communities that strive for positive change is the result of partnerships and relationships.
Valley First Credit Union has a long-standing history of serving its members and providing solid financial services to the community it serves. I would be honored to join the committee furthering the Credit Union’s philosophy of “People Helping People.”
In my role as a Stanislaus County Supervisor and former assemblywoman for the state of California, I’ve been a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability. I bring this same advocacy and expertise to the Valley First Credit Union Supervisory Committee.
I’m committed to safeguarding the credit union’s assets, to ensuring that our credit union continues to be a safe and sound financial institution and most importantly, ensuring that Valley First members receive the best service possible.
I look forward to serving the members of Valley First Credit Union for another term on the Supervisory Committee.
When the number of nominations and petitions for office received does not exceed the number of vacant positions, the credit union Board of Directors may, without further action, declare that those nominated and qualified to be elected are elected (Article V, Section 501(d) of the by-laws). Such a declaration will take place at this Annual Meeting.
