Dividends are calculated using the “average daily balance method.” This method adds up all of the daily balances from each day of the dividend period and divides by the number of days in the dividend period to determine the average daily balance. The average daily balance is multiplied by the daily periodic rate by the number of days in the dividend period to calculate your dividends earned, if any.
