SBA 7(a) business loan highlights

Section Content: 

Flexible loan amounts with a maximum loan of $5,000,000. Loan terms available based on purpose of the loan with a general range of 7 to 25 years.

Eligibility

  • Operate as a for-profit
  • Meet SBA's definition of a small business
  • Able to demonstrate need for loan
  • Have reasonable invested equity
  • Use alternative financial resources, including personal assets, before seeking financial assistance
  • May not already be delinquent in other government debt
  • Other terms, conditions and eligibility may apply

Eligibility

  • Operate as a for-profit
  • Business net worth below $15 million
  • Average net income of less than $5 million after federal income taxes for two years prior to application
  • Other general eligibility standards apply
